Hey dragana its great to see that finally people get to read about the truth of emirates and i hope not only crew will read your blog. I was a crew myself for EK for almost 4 years and witnessed many of those stories. I got so sick of them that i just packed my bags and left without resigning. Please keep it up. I truly hope emirates will learn its lesson one day and people will stop applying for this company that has no shame and cares about nothing but money.
Good luck,
lina

Hi dear, can you please tell inside stories and un professional behavior of other departments, as what I have read is majority cabin crew department issues. More or less it seems, rest department like engineering, Ground operations, Cargo etc are working fine and employees are happy. Is it?

I am just publishing what people send me. So far you could read about Airport Services, Cabin Crew, EGIT and EGHQ, with a hint of flight deck and DNATA stories. Engineers didn’t write to me so far.

Believe me no hardworking will be appreciated. Only back biting will be highlighted as a promotion. Only in 6 months, new comer is fed up.100% and max 1year. What is said in the meetings is all fake. If you had read the story The Man, the Boy, and the Donkey. You will enjoy this story and will get the moral. Similar here. No matter how perfect you do your word will be twisted. As mentioned above by Dragana the department. But I know DN/EK are same. EK staff fedup and leave and join DN and DN staff leave and join’s EK at the end. End up with resignation. The glamour is from out side only. There is a saying the depth of the water only can be judged from inside. Those who are not an employee they wish to be employed and when they are employed they regret it.
Dragana I salute you for your effort. Well done…

Who stuck it out for soon long?? I agree that EK are best rid of anyone who is honest decent and hardworking. The company doesn’t deserve to have anyone like that working for them…

I’ve worked for emirates as cabin crew for 9 years and haven’t seen anything like the crap you wrote. My life as crew is amazing and I earn more than doctors in the uk for the lifestyle I have.

Let us assume you are an SFS and you live in EK accommodation. You will earn a basic of around 9000 AED a month. Flight pay on average of around 4000 a month. 13000 a month. A doctor in the UK will earn about 60000 aed a month. And live in freedom, with a legal system, human rights, no bullying and a Labour Law that works. Not to mention a low cost of living unlike Dubai. I assume you are one of the paid management trolls? Never let the truth spoil a good story. What idiots EK management are…..
My advice to you…If you don’t like it, LEAVE!!!!

Well you obviously have no idea about salaries at all :D….as a cabin supervisor, not a Purser! you earn around 6000-7000 add basic, then if you fly around 100 hrs a month, you get around 8000 add for flying hours, if you live in the accommodation – your accommodation, water, electricity is free. If not, you get 70 000 aed a year to pay for it. Then you can add the allowance downroute if you want and your monthly salary comes easily to 20 000 aed and more, without tax, all yours 🙂 Thats 5000 pounds and more a month, all yours, not tax…..and all without spending years studying medicine.

and yet you can’t rent any accommodation in dubai for 70000aed per year because you need at least double of that amount. also, a doctor of medicine has a salary many times bigger than you mentioned in your comment.

Lola, my, my you are being a saucy mare today! OK. Here we go. Please tell us what you can rent in Dubai for 70,000 AED per year? Additionally please tell us about DEWA costs?
https://dubai.dubizzle.com/property-for-rent/?keywords=70%2C000+aed&is_basic_search_widget=1&is_search=1
Now, how far are they from EGHQ with no transport? So add in transport costs.
How much is DEWA? Let us say (with summer) 7000 AED per annum.
Municipality Fee (collected via DEWA) of 5% is 3500 on 70000 AED
Taxis to work (2 ways) to and from International City say 160 AED return and 10 flights per month is 1600 for 11 months a year.
5% to the agent as a fee when renting and 5% to legalise the tenancy agreement is a further 7000 AED.
Which means the 70000 you boast about is now only 70,000 -7000-3500- 7000 which is 52,500.
Then a months@ deposit of 5800 AED which most CC don’t have on joining which means 46,200 is what ca be spent on rent.

There we are. A little clarification goes a long way.
Additionally, darlin, you say they can give that as an allowance. It is given every six months whereas as most landlords ask for 1 cheque for the year….
Also, as you well know, EK regularly say we are not going to give the allowance anymore as we have too much empty accommodation. A change in the contract that isn’t legally binding. EK can’t be sued!
Allowances are given to give a low basic as this is the end of service benefit calculation that EK uses for leavers. The EOSB that many people don’t receive. Illegal, but hey, EK can’t be sued. Did I already say that??
Allowances?
EK reduce and reduce and reduce the allowances to such an extent that most crew don’t eat well. The allowances are for food. Not for partying and are pitiful.
Tell us about the cost of fresh fruit and veg in Dubai or Alcohol? Insane prices.
How many cc in EK and how many pursers? Pursers and Doctors are not easily comparable.
And finally, please tell us about all the fees hiding as taxes in the UAE….
Ready for round 2.
Latte with a sticky bun, please!!

Would you be so kind and publish an article about Emirates winning number 1 airline, please? If employees were so mistreated as you are saying, Emirates would not be even in the top 20. You can’t force 60000 emplyess to pretend to be happy and work hard, if they are not 🙂

Lola, why hasn’t AAA published the results of the staff survey that he promised in writing? 20% CC leaving per year is a fact. No Employee survey has ever rated EK as a good employer. There are certainly questions about how Skytrax awarded this to EK….
No one even pretends to be happy.
Even the Managers forced to try to rebut truthful comments here after trying to get this blog closed.
Go to MMI and buy an overpriced bottle of wine and console yourself watching your overpriced E life TV connection and censored internet. Do you use Skype to call your family? Don’t as its illegal. Tango? Viper> Whatsapp calls?? All illegal….
