What happened to Elena?

This is the e-mail I’ve got yesterday worth of public and relevant authorities’ attention.

Dear,

I am also former Emirates crew. I had a pleasure to fly with Elena (the girl that was fall from emirates aircraft 2 days ago) couple of times and also we were meeting usually in costa for smoking every couple of weeks. She was one of the best people i have met in dubai. We talk a lot about her life , family and work. She was a strong woman. She was not taking bullshit from anyone. She was following the rules and regulations of the company because she like it and didn’t want to apologize for anything. She wanted to be purser one day. But even though she have been in the company for 21 years she was still SFS. As she told me they were considering her as too old and they wanted younger people for this role. This woman she was in Dubai sooo long doing her job that she really loved. And thats how they treat her. They haven’t make any investigation. In one hour and a half i consider that is not enough time for this, and they took off with the crew that just witness what happened They just didn’t want to leave the customers or the crew there to talk with any one. My question is did she suicide ? Did she fall ? Or was she pushed? As customers told they heard the crew arguing. What happened? .how can she open the 777 door with one hand and push it and fall if the media mention that she had in one hand a glass bottle.
She didn’t deserve this. She was a strong independent respectful woman.
Please get to the bottom of this.
Use your connections. Do what you can.
Best regards

I flew with Elena a few times, she was a great SFS. So sad with all of this, and once again we will never find out what really happened. They just pushed back and not a single crew stayed with her. I’m so happy I left this airline. They have 26 year old pursers while a woman who dedicated her life to Emirates never passed SFS. Age means experience not pretty faces. RIP. I can’t wait for this airline to cease operations.

It is outrageous the way the situation was dealt with and judging by the early departure of that flight instead of a proper investigation, I really doubt there will be any justice made for poor Elena. RIP and deepest condolences to the family! Hope they get the strenght to cope with this! 😞

It’s so absurd that the crew continued to operate on the return.

Isn’t there a safety issue there? Didn’t the company care about the crew’s wellbeing?

I can’t wait until we get to the bottom of this. But, again, it’ll probably be another cover up.

Okay, first of all RIP Elena and I am really sorry for her friends and family. Second, it is not about the crew not caring about the flight attendant’s well being. But with every delay, Emirates loses a lot of money and you cannot let the passengers wait for hours cause then they will complain. I understand, they were witnesses to what happened that day but it is still not fair for the passengers to wait in order for an investigation to be made. And we also need to understand that Emirates is a global airline and wether we like it or not being an EK cabin crew means being a number among the tens of thousands of other cc and no one actually cares about your personal issues. If you want a company that will “give you love” go to low cost. I don’t want this to be considered a hate comment ,it is just my opinion like everyone else’s on this blog. Thank you.

No company will give you love :)) especially a low cost! It’s all about money and so many crew commit suicide in hotel rooms and the next day the crew have to operate back. Was it inhumane? Yes it was and any money driven business is . It’s sad and yes I think one of the crew could have stayed behind with her but at the same time she was a troubled soul and should not have been flying anymore giving the fragile state in wich she obviously was. She was treat to herself and every team she felw with ot with have flown after. God bless her soul and I hope she found peace!

Ma, you do understand that the plane was the scene of an accident/suicide/whatever. It was meant to stay there for investigation!!!! The passengers could have been put on another plane, another airline, the way it happens so many times, for different reasons. Emirates wouldn’t have gone bankrupt if that plane had stayed there!!! :))))) Flyinggirl, we can’t compare this particular case where your colleague jumped from the plane in front of your eyes with a case when a colleague comits suicide in a hotel room, and you find out the next day that they are not operating the flight anymore, sometimes you are being told the reason, other times you find out when you reach the destination from another source. It is painful, but the impact on you and your state of mind is not the same to when you witness this (God forbid, hope no one gets to witness this ever)!

Beleive it or not it wasn’t EK that decided to leave . The captain decided , the authorities decided. Blame it on the Captain for not wanting to loose his job as well. Who makes this company? Money driven people. Get used to that as I have already.

Have you worked for EK? This is the airline who will demote a Captain for offloading a pax who caused a disturbance in the lounge. They didn’t like that the pax was a Platinum Skywards and complained at being offloaded, even though Capt followed all procedure in absence of contact from VPNC.

Do you really think if the EBB captain said no, we’re not leaving that EK would have said ‘ok, we bow to your authority as Captain’. As if. They would have threatened his job (not directly, they are too sneaky for that) but ALL crew would have in the back of their minds the threats of warning letters and all those things we know so well. Imagine, if any of them already had a warning on their file. They’d want to not cause a fuss and get back to Dubai, even if they knew it was wrong. Because after seeing that, who would want to make trouble and worsen their situation even more?

Anyone who knows EK truly, knows they consider themselves ultimate authority. I mean, they can when their head is also on the Board of the same safety regulator which oversees them.
            illegal in any other country.

Even if it were ‘right’ to continue, any ‘moral’ airline would have stood down the crew, given them immediate care and flight home as pax, and put the pax on another airline. Sure it’s inconvenience to them, but it’s not ever day that one of your employees dies in full view of the world like that.

Where was the heart? That’s right, they have none. The forebears of this company and their country would be ashamed of what Emirates has become in such a short time.

Blame it on the Captain for not wanting to loose his job as well, on the PUR that gave the ok for boarding to start after such a disturbing incident. Who makes this company? Money driven people. I experienced something terrible in another airline. I was attacked by another crew member, in front of the eyes of another colleague. I could not do anything to prove that, because the colleague who witnessed the attack was actually the accomplice. It is a paradox that they do not care about our feelings, our health, they do not notice when we perform well, but they DO FIND TIME TO FOLLOW US, TO FOLLOW EACH STEP WE MAKE WHEN WE ARE NOT ON DUTY, TO REPORT US AND MAKE AMBUSHES. How do they find time to do that? Well, a clever person will read between the lines…

He is there – just rumour he is head of HR he can cover his profile if he wants. Unless it’s official he will always be there – Abdul Aziz will never leave Emirates

Sorry about what happened to your former colleague.

There is an old Youtube video titled “Emirates crew leaving Entebbe Airport” published in 2010.If I’m not mistaken the deceased is the last one walking in the video. The woman in the video looks similar to the one in the deceased’s passport (Bulgarian).

    Anon, that isn’t her …

    Merry Xmas everybody…
Today i am thinking about Elena and I am hoping that she found peace…
It is still haunting me not knowing what exactly happened to this beautiful lady!
Unbelievable how EK always manages to get away with this shit…
I wanted to leave for a loooong time and spoke to Elena multiple times how unhappy i became working for EK…
Elena always told me just go; go home and enjoy life, its not gonna get better here only worse.. go home and be happy…
Sadly Elena’s death gave me the push I needed; to actually resign and chose for me own happiness…
when this horrible company decided to steal my last ever flight that I bidded for > deadheading flight last minute to a 12hr long turnaround as my farewell gift…
when they had the nerve to call me and ask me why i didnt show up; i told them cause you cant treat crew like this; we are humans with feelings and you cant keep pushing us to insanity and i took my first absent ever with pride; hoping Elena would have been proud of me for finally having the balls to stand up to them and leave and chosing for me !

Now 6 months later I am back home; it was a struggle tho but I am finally happy again now!

Thank you Elena for all of the good times we had; you made me laugh so much!
I promis I will never forget you and I hope you finally found peace !

I wish whoever reads this a merry Xmas and please make sure to keep yourself happy and a resigniation when you are not happy is the best thing you could do for yourself! Be brave and stay strong ❤
