This is what Emirates managers get paid

If you are reading my blog from the very beginning you could notice that my termination process began at the moment when I asked about DVP’s (Divisional Vice President’s) salary at the open forum. DVP of Airport Services at that time was Anoma Manuel (shortly after the incident she was moved to another position) and she rudely answered that her salary is “not my business”. I, on the contrary, felt that my managers’ salary is my business because difference between mine and their salary is a direct measure of how much I (and all the other lower grade staff in Emirates) am exploited in order for managers to have their unjustifiably high salaries.

I did a little research and this is what I have found out: managers’ salaries are unimaginably and unduly higher than salaries of regular staff who are forced to work long hours, forced overtime, who are pressurized, disrespected, humiliated and fired for other people’s mistakes.

So, if Anoma Manuel was honest at the Open forum, she could answer my question like this:  “I am receiving around 40,000 AED per month, plus all the frills, plus four times bonus.”

According to my sources an overall package of one DSVP (Divisional Senior Vice President) is around 100.000 AED.

If we, for example, assume that this year’s bonus will be for 9 weeks, EK 4 staff will get around 7000 AED bonus, but one SVP (Senior Vice President) will receive around 490.000 AED.

If we know that one grade EK4 staff has 3500 AED (+1500 AED accommodation allowance) salary, I will leave you to think what these numbers mean.

As a matter of fact, high managers are getting more than that and they are entitled for some extra “bonuses” (shares) that are different from our “bonus” at the end of each financial year besides, if they saved some from the yearly budget, they would be entitled for some percentage of that maybe this is why they are trying to save as much as they can by not doing promotions or give raise on salaries only when they are in extreme need to do so…however, they are clever in giving selected staff “Najem” awards that come with cash and put their pictures in “Safar” to make them “models” rather than giving raise to all.

So should everyone be paid equal then? Even thoughsome barely speak english and others have 4 or 5 degrees?

Some people in the company do not speak English well and are paid much higher than some other people just because they got to the position where there are now for knowihg ‘the right people’… There many others who are better qualified who went for many different interviews and assessments but still dont get promoted to the same position coz they are more low profiled and did not kiss the ‘right people’s’ asses

I’m curious what Mr. Round-About Kevin Griffiths and Drinking n Driving Terry Dally really do to deserve such salaries… no support, terrible service adjustments that cost millions, spreading fear and blah blah blah…how did the open forum go?

Must have done really really well since it made it to the WSJ. We also forget that we continually blame Terry D & Kevin G but don’t forget they are merely pawns. You need a company wide change – not simply putting band aids to keep the wounds healed in small little spots

I js resigned due to my pregnancy. And ridiculously that bonus already credit to my bank account with salary therefore on my eoes my bonus got deducted from there. The reason why i dint get any penny from ek because my manager put me last of service date on 25th and i will only entitled for bonus on 26th. How funny issit and my manager awared of this but never help. Useless management and stingy company!! I would say its not worth to work hard for this big company because they dont know how to appreciate.

About your bonus, you’re very much entitled to it as you have worked the whole financial year. Get all the records and documents necessary and either go to the economic department or hire a good lawyer! This act is like stealing with you very much present. Some people in EK love to play injustice to others especially when it comes to money. How shameless!!

Perhaps a thorough investigation of those cabin crew managers in EK on how they operate is necessary. They need to be audited as well, especially those ones who literally go beyond to help their favourite crew get away with murder by helping them compose an email to deny their wrong doings. No wonder why we have customers complaining all the time. Because of these ungrateful white crew you try very hard to promote. The walls in EGHQ have eyes and ears so as the aluminum tube. Be careful KE and accomplice! Bad karma is not far away from you! You tarnish the image of the company and your co-managers!
